As a team of 4, we built a handwriting recognition model using EasyOCR and OpenCV. The model had an accuracy of 87.18% at English written text but struggled with math and physics symbols. We incorporated the Qwen2.5 VLM into the site to provide better accuracy and lower VRAM requirements.
